The Game Awards 2024 dolazi 12. decembra, a objavljeni su svi nominovani za 10. godišnju dodelu nagrada. Ove godine manifestacija sadrži 30 kategorija sa desetinama igara i studija u konkurenciji. U poređenju sa prošlogodišnjim događajem, ove godine su uklonjene dve kategorije – Najbolji esports trener i Najbolji esports događaj.
Jedna od važnih napomena ove godine je da su ekspanzije, sezone igara, DLC-ovi, rimejkovi i remasteri kvalifikovani za sve kategorije ukoliko žiri smatra da su „vredni“. S ovom najavom, objavljenom nekoliko dana pre otkrivanja nominacija, jasno je da je cilj bio da se razjasni situacija za one koji su se pitali da li su Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree i Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred podobni za nagrade.
Najveća nagrada večeri, Igra godine, ima šest kandidata. Ovogodišnji nominovani su Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth i Metaphor: ReFantaszio.
